Freescale Semiconductor Malaysia sponsored the inaugural Freescale Smart Car Competition 2008 that was held on 13 December 2008 in Multi Purpose Hall SIRIM. 26 teams involving some 52 engineering students from 10 local public and private universities participated in the Smart Car Competition. The competition was organized in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE) Computer Society - Malaysia Section (IEEE-CS Malaysia).

Last year 2009, the industry was facing severe economic downturn and hence, the 2nd Smartcar Competition had been postponed to this year 2010. 

Milestones:

1. Last date of competition forms : 15 May'2010

2. S12 MCU Workshop at FSL Auditorium: Sat 17 Jul'10, 2PM at Freescale M'sia (Confirmed).

3. Tentative Date: Sat-Sun 4-5 Dec'2010 (Confirmed New Date)

4. Venue: UKM DECTAR

Total of 25 participating teams from 11 Malaysian universities had confirmed their participation in this year competition.
